SafeNav – Real-World Container Ship Trials

After months of full scale bridge simulator tests in Italy, and first integration on a USV/ASV in Finland, SafeNav has now been tested at sea on a large Danaos container ship (M/V Express Spain) during an Mediterranean voyage.

🔹 Full-scale bridge environment with Navigators and Captains on a real voyage.

🔹 SafeNav Co-Pilot running alongside existing ship systems and with requiered data/sensor inputs.

🔹 Tested in both daytime and night-time conditions, including long-duration encounters and costal voyages.

🔹 Real-time COLREG-compliant decision support to prevent collisions and groundings!!

These trials on large ocean going and real vessels are a major step forward for @SafeNav, proving us the ability to integrate with large commercial vessels, support bridge crews, and operate under real-world conditions.

A huge thank you to our partners at Danaos for making these trials possible, and especially to the bridge team onboard for your professionalism, insights, and collaboration throughout the trials.
